Dark haired, black eyed, Wutai features, bespectacled, carries a katana when on duty, carries a huge range of expressions when not (from professional, to a roughish grin, to whacky), actually uses a tie in his suit, is generally neat, and has a jagged scar on his left cheek, reaching down to the chin.
Personality:
Rey shows a massive diversity in personality owing to the different places he's grown up in. He has Wutai's solemnity and dignity, he has Gongaga's easygoing cheer, and he has an effervescence and a sly sense of humour that can only stem from Midgar, the big city that never sleeps.
While intelligent, he also has a bad tendency not to follow through with whatever he's doing, if it fails to hold his interest. Thus, he can be precise and conscientious when he wishes, but most of the time, he foregoes the details.
History:
Rey spent the golden years of his childhood in Wutai, and migrated with his parents to the continent. How the family ended up in Gongaga he still isn't too sure -- and suspects it had something to do with family already staying there. Those were slow, boring years, where he worked with his family on a farm, living hand to mouth. While he never attained much musculature, it did give him a wirey strength that served him well when he took up sword training under his father -- not just for fun, but to defend the family plots from the occasional rogue animal or monster.
However, he also had a thirst for knowledge, and eventually set out for Midgar to complete his family's dream of living in the big city. There, he spent one and a half years in Midgar Technological College, before running into financial difficulties. A thirst for adventure and the promise of wealth and the ability to go home eventually led him to apply to the Turks.
